Scary John (also called Scary-John-the-Janitor) was the janitor at the Happy Camper Orphanage during the time Sly Cooper, Bentley and Murray resided there. Though not much is known about his past, cleaning Mrs. Puffin's office was a part of his duties.
When Sly and his friends were carrying out their very first heist (the Cookie Stealing Plan), John was on his way to clean Mrs. Puffin's office and was completely unaware of Sly's presence. Before Sly could reach Mrs. Puffin's cookie jar, Bentley warned him that there was no time left, for he and Murray feared that Sly would be busted.
