Sly: But if I don't do anything Carmelita is doomed. Besides, stealing just wouldn't be any fun without her.
Bentley: Sly, your ridiculous raccoon logic sends shivers up my shell.
― Sly, vowing to save Carmelita from Clockwerk's gas chamber[src]
Sly enters a room, which is packed with security systems, along with booby-trapped tiles. Bentley suggests that he gets out of there, but Sly then sees Carmelita trapped in the room ahead. Sly insists on freeing her, but Bentley warns Sly that it is probably a trap by Clockwerk, and reminds him that all she has been doing was trying to bust Sly. However, Sly sees that as a misunderstanding and still insists on saving her.In order to free her, he must avoid the dart-shooting machines by using a barrel as a shield. Once he enters the chamber, the door behind him closes and he tries to bust the glass with his cane, but it was too thick. The chamber then fills with deadly gas, knocking Sly unconscious. Clockwerk then appears on the chamber's screens, laughing and mocking Sly for his sentimental feelings for Carmelita, and states that empathy has always been the downfall of the Cooper Clan. Bentley has to act quickly by doing some fast and furious hacking in order to prevent the gas from killing Sly and Carmelita.
