A calling card is a special card that Sly Cooper uses to replace things he has stolen, or to attract the attention of Inspector Carmelita Fox. They are seen in all four games in the Sly Cooper series. Sly usually places them in safes after he has opened them, or in places where Carmelita can see them, that way Sly and the gang can lure her, or just let her know that the gang was there.
History[]
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus[]
Calling cards first appear in Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. In "Police Headquarters," Sly Cooper placed one inside the vault in Inspector Carmelita Fox's office. He would do the same thing after stealing items from vaults found in other locations as well.
Sly 2: Band of Thieves[]
Like in the first game, Sly would place a calling card inside a vault after stealing an item from certain locations. In Tango with Carmelita, Sly placed a flower with a calling card attached to it in Carmelita's hand after making his getaway.
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves[]
Calling cards appear several times in the third game. One first appears in the ending cutscene of Rumble Down Under next to Carmelita's camera, telling her to have the film developed, since the Cooper Gang used it to keep themselves entertained. Another one appears in Operation: Wedding Crasher, when Sly leaves at the front door of General Tsao palace to lure Carmelita in so she would take Jing King's place. A calling card made one final appearance at the end of the game, where Sly leaves it with his Cane next to an alternate entrance to the Cooper Vault.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time[]
In I Smell a Rat, Sly placed a calling card after stealing a Japanese dagger only to get caught by Carmelita.
