This article is about the rooftop guard from Sly 2: Band of Thieves. For other uses, see Rat guard (disambiguation).
Rats were enemy guards employed by Dimitri Lousteau to serve as his rooftop guards and protect his nightclub in Paris.
Description[]
They are black rats with yellow eyes. Their stereotypical French attire consists of a shirt with black and white stripes, tan pants/trousers, a red beret and a red scarf.
Typically, these rats use a bludgeon as a weapon of choice. While in combat, they will swing their bludgeons, creating a powerful spiral attack. Some rats carry dynamite sticks instead. When attacking with those, they run up to their foes and drop several of them, one at a time, and then run away and wait for them to detonate, repeating the process over again. Some do not carry visual weapons and will simply jump and try to stomp their foes.
Behind the scenes[]
- As seen in the Sly 2 demo, the rats originally had pink berets before those hats turned red.
- Along with the warthog guards, they made a minor appearance in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, in the introduction cinematic for "An Opera of Fear," where they were seen being beaten up by Murray.
