Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the fourth title of the platform/stealth series. Thieves in Time is the first Sly title to be released in six years. The game will have a dual release on the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita. The game follows Sly and his gang as they set off to locate the legendary Thievius Raccoonus, a book chronicling the Cooper family line across multiple generations. Unlike the previous Sly titles, Thieves in Time will be developed by Sanzaru Games instead of Sucker Punch Productions.

Previously On...
After the events of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, Bentley, the current keeper of the Thievus Racconnus, sees that the pages are beginning to change or disappear. Penelope has gone missing, and Bentley decides to call the gang back together to attempt to piece things together. They discover that someone is sabtoging events in the past, causing parts of the timeline to alter or disappear. The gang will need to travel through time to stop whoever is changing the timeline. The entire history of the Cooper legacy is on the line, and Sly's ancestors will need to join the fight to protect the future.
For previous games in the Sly series:

Sly's Ancestors
With time travel as a major element of the story, new characters in the Cooper family will be introduced. These ancestors of Sly live in different time periods and come equipped with their own skills and expertise. These ancestors can be played at various points of the game and most have their own unique movesets. For example, Riochi Chooper's stealth attack varies differently from Sly's. Another ancestor, Salim al Kupar, has his own ability called the Cobra Climb. This allows him to rapidly ascend vertical ropes, chains, or poles to evade attacks.
The full list of playable ancestors include:

Collectables
Clue Bottles have been confirmed to make their re-appearance in the game. Treasures from Sly 2 will be returning as well but will be displayed on a treasure wall in the Safe House. Secret Sly Masks are a newly introduced collectable. There are a total of sixty maskes in the game and every five (and later on, ten) masks collected will net a different reward. The Safe House returns with some new features, including Costume Gallery, Table Tennis, and an Arcade Machine.

Gameplay
Thieves in Time will maintain plenty of similarities to previous games. The game plays out in the third-person, which the player controlling Sly or one of his companions through missions, relying on stealth to avoid encounters and alarms and collecting items. Missions are usually broken into heists. New to Thieves in Time is the free-roaming gameplay. There are several large environments (most twice as big as previous installments). Each of the levels are packed with multiple tiers, whether it's rooftops, alleys and streets, to explore.

Costumes
Disguises from Sly 3 have returned, but now include more features and benefits to the player. Each of these new costumes have one or two special abilities. While using some costumes in the correct time period, the player can avoid drawing the attention of the guards. Some abilities include being fireproof (Samurai Costume), the use of fire arrows (Archery Costume) or the ability the slow down time (Thief Costume)
